Which version of Linux?
Fedora 12 installs Wine version 1.2.0
Fedora 13 installs Wine version 1.3.4
so if you're using Fedora, its old enough to be unsupported.
Looks like the OP is running FC11. FC11 is no longer supported, so you
are correct.
The appropriate action is to upgrade Fedora to a supported version or if
you can wait for 17 more days, FC14 will be released.
