I'm surprised nobody else reported the issue with the Source Engine, since those games a largely played. I dont have any hl2.exe based game installed on this computer actually, I might give tf2 and l4d a try (I can run Urbanterror, Dawn of War and Stronghold Crusader just fine, so we can assume its a source engine related issue).


I haven't installed Urban Terror on my desktop with the 4870x2 yet, but I have played it on my laptop.
If there is a difference, it is in the video drivers and it is time to complain to AMD/ATI. This is looking less and less like a Wine problem and more and more like a video driver problem. Are you using the SAME Linux Distribution and the SAME kernel and the SAME video drivers?
