ATi's drivers are not too dependable at the moment. I've been experiencing regressions with the latest drivers (10.7's). Honestly, go nVidia if you're interested in Linux. Not to say nV's drivers are perfect, but they are FAR, FAR better than ATi's A.T.M. r2rX :)
