Update: have worked around the problems with 7.0.3 by a company upgrade to 8.5.1. 8.5.1 doesn't install at all in Wine (on 64-bit Ubuntu Lucid). It tries to and fails, hanging while trying to start its services. I could try to diagnose it in detail, but we had the Linux debs so I used those instead.
