I have NVidia drivers and hardware.  All that works fine.

I ran 'winetricks help >mylist.txt' and got quite a nice listing of capabilities.  You guys are pirates, and I'll bet you're not even in Pittsburgh.  *giggle*

Something interesting came up while running SC4RH.  The general crap-out starts with losing your sound while zoning.  There is some kind of hiccup and the sound quits.  I've noticed it before, but didn't think much of it, but the next thing that happens is that the graphics start to go funnier and funnier.  I usually save before it crashes, then restart, which seems to help for a while, although sometimes I have to reboot.  Whatever gets stepped on affects gdm's signoff screen which becomes about 50% or less transparent during shutdown.  If the kernel isn't protected from wine, then it is being stepped on, and I suspect something happens to the page table or the graphics drivers.  And yes, once upon a time I did know how to write an operating system.
