Before running winetricks vcrun2005sp1, I couldn't get as far as the splash screen. I'm using a nocd crack with a legitimate version of the game.
This game is rated GOLD. That means some 'tweaks' to Wine are needed.
However. no one has done us the favor of pointing out, in a how to, what
is needed to make it work. :( Maybe, one of the folks who did get it
to do so would do the kind favor of posting what they did.
Also, there are two bug reports for this game. One is with the slow
installer problem, and the other appears to be yours.
