General Wine on Mac OS X is not be as good as Crossover right now when it comes to fullscreen and resolution switching. Crossover has its own x.org based X11 server it uses. Normal Wine has to use the systems X11.app (Xquartz). Xquartz right now does not support the RANDR extension at all... so even if you get an app to run in fullscreen on normal Rootless, the top menu bar and the dock will till be shown, and the app cannot change the resolution. What you can do... as a work around. Change your OSX resolution to what the game wants. Launch X11.app. Change X11.app preferences to run fullscreen mode. Then launch the Wine game.... this will work for some games... other games need multiple resolutions and you need to use a virtual desktop in full screen and kill off quartz-wm or stop letting it manage/decorate windows... All that said, I've played around with this a lot in making Wineskin (http://wineskin.doh123.com), and have some workarounds built in so resolution changes and stuff can be semi-handled. You may want to try that. Current release is a bit odd to use. I have a TON of improvements coming when I release Wineskin 1.0 in the next week or so though.... including being much more user friendly.... but its still going to take me awhile to get the FAQ and manual all made.
