When you built were all parts present. Ie not missing some libs. Also check winecfg that cdrom drive is listed as a cdrom drive(IE not the old bug where cdrom drive magically becomes harddrive) and what drive letter. Then check ~/wine/dosdevices/<driveletter>:: that it points to the hardware device ie the cd burner device in /dev . Yes the :: is different to : This is the basic list of what to check.
