If you want an icon on the desktop, you'll have to create one, or install a later version of wine from your distribution of Linux and re-install the app. I don't think wine creates icons by itself. There are too many different window managers. In my experience, if you get wine from your distribution it should provide the icons for whatever window managers they use.
