the only step that is missing for your typical non-experienced user to have
things working.
Anyway, these instructions seemed OK for me - basically just instructions
from your "direct link" adapted for average Ubuntu user. Nothing that could
be labelled as "garbage" (at least without some investigation).

Excellent link except for being almost useless for Linux newbie. If you
think that someone printing something in Linux needs to learn about CUPS
architecture and drivers and management - I agree to some point. But I'm
also pretty sure that the key to attract more users to Linux is solve their
problems with simple solutions first and encourage them to learn "basics"
later (If they want).

I can't imagine people posting links like these "to make themselves seams
important". I definitely didn't want to seem important. Didn't want to
deserve your precious attention either though :-)
