The only disrecommendation there is that it doesn't fall under Ubuntu support but instead under forum support over here. 1.1.35 generally runs a LOT more than the over-a-year-old 1.0.1. If you encountered software that does work in the old version but not the latest you have found a regression that will have to be reported and fixed in Wine.
