Actually, I was missing something. Having the Wine icon showing in the Applications menu of Ubuntu is pointless. Everything I need for launching program files are kept hidden in a ./wine folder of my /home directory. All I had to do was browse to; /home/tsktsknopeeking@mycomputer/.wine/drive_c/Program Files/ and create a launcher on the desktop for the specific program I wanted to run. Good to know. Now I have a more recent, stable version of Wine - and I can run my program with it.
