It's probably hard to tell, what's going wrong. Which wine version are you running, which linux? Do you have .Net installed on wine? Did you try "winetricks vcrun2005", "winetricks dotnet30", maybe "winetricks comctl32"? You may try other combinations, like vcrun2008, dotnet30? It'll probably be better, if you test that on a different WINEPREFIX. Do you know how to use WINEPRREFIX? Then I'd suggest, that you create an alternative .wine directory, let's say ".wine2". Install TAXAct there, using WINEPREFIX before every command, e.g. WINEPREFIX=".wine2" wine xyz.exe
