DaVince you are spot on. I reformatted the USB stick with 2 partitions, FAT32 as the first primary and ext3 as the 2nd primary. Had to do it that way because when ext3 was the first primary Windows wouldn't find the FAT32 drive and always wanted to format the ext3 partition.

So now I use ext3 as the LiveUSB partition, and under Windows I have an uncluttered USB stick.
