I was able to install and run solidworks 2007 under Ubuntu Karmic Wine version 1.1.34 I used PlayOnLinux to install Currently the program starts and does 2D sketches. I can't do 3D since it crashes every time I try to do so. The error message says Microsoft Visual C++ Runtime Library Runtime Error! Program: C:\Program Files\SolidWorks\SLDWORKS.exe abnormal program termination I ran winetricks and installed vcrun2005 ie6 and gdiplus. Unfortunately this doesn't cure the problem. What can I do?
