Actually, telling the program to present the drive as something different than what it is is exactly what I think vitamin meant by "lying" to the application - we'd have to pass some fake values or properties that might not be actually supported on a network share, and this would introduce problems if Wine tells the app that it "has this" (as a stub of sorts) when it actually DOESN'T have it.

How to fix it is a difficulty, and might break other apps because of this. Then again, you ARE using a rare special case where C: is a network share...
