I'm guessing your on a Mac... how is X11 blocked? some type of work computer without enough access? If its just not working right, I'd say fix it.... if your blocked... well... may not be a way to get it to work. X11 isn't all contained inside of X11.app .. most of it is in /usr/X11. Even moving most of the contents from X11.app to a new app will not make it run if your blocked from X11. If you can run terminal, you can try starting X by doing a startx, or xinit. It wont run the X11.app exactly the same as clicking on it, but it still has to run it.
