Use a live disc like knoppix (www.knoppix.net) or the one shipped by ubuntu. (www.ubuntulinux.org) With those, you can try your hardware under linux without installing or changing anything on your hard disk. If it works there, it very likley will work with an proper installation of linux. BTW: This is not an wine issue :o :)
