if its failing on " xorg-libXxf86vm" I'm wondering.. did you install X11 from macports too? not a good idea... see if you can get rid of it... the default install of X11 you already had on Snow Leopard is the only one thats going to work right, as the X11 at Xquartz and on Macports right now is for Leopard, not Snow Leopard. You already had a fully working X11 on your system thats always there with Snow Leopard, and installing anything else can mess it up. You can try to remove what you did, and then use the Snow Leopard disc to re-install X11 from it... if you didn't do anything to X11, then disregard...
