You state that Wine is unable to build folders in your user .wine folder? Did you EVER run Wine as root? If you did, you messed up the permissions to that folder and Wine, when run as a regular user will not be able to create folders, ever. The solution is to remove the .wine folder and start over again. This is one reason that we do not recommend running Wine as root. James McKenzie
