you should look in the appdb and see what exact games/programs run and how well they run and how to get them to run.

Mac OS X actually has no problems with Wine or OpenGL... Wine only runs better on Linux because Apple doesn't use X11 as its main window system like Linux, and Wine is made for X11.  The X11 (Xquartz) made to run on top of Mac OS X is seriously lacking some features that would make it very good...

If you really want to use Wine based things on Mac OS X to its fullest, its best to buy Crossover Games, as their built in custom made X11 is MUCH MUCH MUCH MUCH better for Wine than Xquartz.
