PulseAudio - atleast one possbile quickfix, need confirmatio

Hello,

As we known PulseAudio is not yet officially supported by Wine.

I recently installed Mint 7 Gloria (Gnome) and kicked on wine for my old DnD online.

noticed that with pulseaudio (Alsa in winecfg, only thing selectable) the audio seems a touch choppy occasionally and it randomly mutes itself.

Went through a couple of forums etc till noticed the following :

1) open winecfg, select audio tab, select acceleration to emulate, TEST the sound, enable desktop integration (set reso) LEAVE winecfg open (unless need reopening for keeping winecfg in window)
2) kick on pylotro (launcher for DDO, irrelevant since launches Wine regardless)
3) play the game (might need windowed mode)

This way the audio works without issues. However, occasionally it chops and lags a little when the audio would seemingly stop. And it does if you dont have winecfg open.

Dont know if this is due to winecfg keeping the pulseaudio stream constantly opened (although not constantly streaming) or not. (keeping ALSA from purging the cache for wine, which would then drop it from Pulseaudio, since ALSA cant access PA cache or something similar... dont know).

Anyway, just a little bit of something. Would like someone to confirm this if possible. (mostly for others and myself to know if its one of those things on this laptop / pulseaudio)
