dimesio Thanks for your clarification that I am getting the procedure right. I am not too worried about iTunes versions as 9.0 was only made available to me today. I had borrowed a XP machine to compare what was being displayed against what I expecting on the screen and it was then I was offered 9.0. It looks like so far so good.
