It took them what over a year to realize uers really need something like this? Sadly, it doesn't quite work. When you open System Monitor pulseaudio still shows up, but at least I could hit "end process" and it ended OK. (For a while it was making gnome-settings-daemon chew up CPU, looking for it.)
