Its easy to create a backup copy of the Windows Registry On a Dual Boot machine couldn't Wine do the same thing and use it? ie. Wine access's the Windows partition, copies the Windows Registry then parses/extracts the info it would need? Wouldn't affect the Window's machine as you wouldn't be touching its real registry.
