Ok, apparently the problem wasn't with wine at all, > I checked Opera (I had some prior errors with the keyboard in Opera) no problems... My problem with Opera returned shortly after posting this thread, I sought a more permanent fix for that involving scim. Sorry for anyone who read though all of this, and I hope this helps anyone who may encounter the same problem.
