Let me guess. You didn't read the FAQ? Please do. Secondly, what is your wine version? Did you do the foolish thing of running GTA directly from a windows install? If you did, please re-read the FAQ. Then, install it in Linux and you should be alright, though you should go into the wine configuration and disable Vertex Shading if it runs slow. It worked just fine here and I beat the game.
