well, there are numerous examples of people playing eve on their linux box. Anyway, have tried many different configurations now, and this is what works the best so far: after deleting the ".wine" folder in my home folder i rerun winecfg to set everything up. I install corefonts "sh winetricks corefonts" I restart the computer (seems to help) I run eve from the eve folder with "wine eve" Eve starts up nicely, i can log in, download updates works too. After logging in i select a character and it start to load the station environment which is 3d, then just as it's supposed to show the 3d environment eve freezes, audio hangs. I do ctrl+F4 to shut down and find the close button in blind behind the game screen.
