Okay, so I deleted .wine and then installed 1.1.15 and it worked like a bought one. Great. Installed 2 favourite apps. Still good. Then I installed Google Earth and that wouldn't run and neither would the other 2 apps. Deleted and reinstalled the other 2 and still won't run. Linux in general and Wine in particular is such a major, major, MAJOR load of crap so very often. This is now my tenth year of stuffing around with it.
