Hi Dan, Thanks for the reply. I'm going to check the demo, but it'll take time -- I have to download it first. I should be able to give you an answer in an hour. Meanwhile, there is indirect evidence that the problem is linked to a lack of computing resources: the 'slideshow effect' can be triggered by running a rather lightweight application in the background (mp3 player); also, in its most severe stadium it slows down the whole system.
