Ok, the problem appears to be that msxml3 reqires riched20 be be installed first. Since winetricks was installing riched20 to the wrong folder, it didn't work. Once riched20 was installed properly, then the msxml3 installed with no problem. I still had to change winetricks to change the following references: "$WINEPREFIX/drive_c/..." to "$WINEPREFIX/dosdevices/c:/... in order for it to work properly.
