Winlinnewbie: Opensource software requires reading, if you dont have time
you can:

Install Virtualbox, install you OS, install office 2003. (for daily use, and
you maybe need some .dll for wine)

And in your spare time: install latest wine and try to get to work your
apps. Dont start using the Icons!, just use Terminal to see the output.
