I notice in your original post you say you installed IE. This is not recommended, and may be what's causing your problem. http://wiki.winehq.org/FAQ#head-69ca5e820c6eef64196e1830bf7f09521c2a4843 Try installing to a clean wineprefix. Rename your original ~/.wine to something else, then run the installer for the app. A new ~/.wine should automatically be created.
