It is in their interests in some respects, but it definitely is NOT in their interests in other respects - mainly the respect where people stop using their OS, which probably rakes in by far the most money. So it's not gonna happen. Also, if it did, I imagine them wanting to put restrictions on the source code and chip in very litte of their own (after all, it's not like they're gonna release some Windows source code just to support Wine). Aaaand if they did there'd DEFINITELY be a restritive license. So no.
