K, followed the install advice for NWN2 from their forum: Quote: Posted 01/11/08 23:08 (GMT) by _-Faceless-_ wine 0.95.2 fixes alot of stuff (such as minimap not working, aqua colored loading screens). Here's the settings you need to play it: *start with a clean wine directory or make a seperate one · Add overrides for devenum.dll and dxdiagn.dll and Copy devenum.dll d3dx9_30.dll dxdiagn.dll to ~/.wine/drive_c/windows/system32/ · Run regedit and add the following key and string values: [HKEY_CURRENT_USER\ Software\ Wine\ Direct3D] OffscreenRenderingMode = fbo UseGLSL = enabled VideoMemorySize = 256 · install updated through the unofficial NWN2patcher. · Enjoy I THINK I did the registry changes correctly, I will post if someone wants to see them. Basically I just created a string named each of those things and then set the value as the item after the = sign. I am using Wine 1.1.4, NWN 2 version 1.11.1152 English, Ubuntu 8.04, and the ATI driver for my radion 2600. When I launch the game, it seems to load ok (launcher, then splash screen) but as soon as the game itself launches, all I get is a pure black window that locks up. I have to kill the process just to get it to close. Any advice? I don't even know where to start... I hear that the ATI driver is potentially the problem?
