Problem saving xls Office 2007 #1

Hello people,

I'm very new to wine but not so much to linux so try not to make the answers -if any- too complicated.

I have successfully installed office 2007 third edition using this post http://samanathon.com/how-to-install-microsoft-office-2007-in-ubuntu-804/ and it worked no probs, I only really installed word and excel though.

Word seems to work perfectly but I'm having some little problems with excel, I'm going to write a separate post for each as not to make this post too long!

The main problem I am having is saving xls (not xlsx) files. If I open an existing xls file and try to save it it gives this error:

> Microsoft Office Excel cannot access the file .... there are several
> possible reasons:
>
> - The file name or path does not exist
> - The file is being used by another program
> - The workbook you are trying to save has the same name as a
> currently open workbook.

None of these cases apply to me, I try to save the file in another location and I get the same message, renaming it doesn't work either, however, if I save the same file as an xlsx format in the same location then I does work. I can however save a new xls file in the same location. Strange [Rolling Eyes]

Any ideas?
