I just had a look at that XQuartz bug report. Jeremy Huddleston changed the milestone from 3.0 to 2.4.0 3 weeks ago. The roadmap doesn't show a 2.4 though, and 2.3.1 is overdue. 2.3.2 is supposedly due in 4 weeks, so who knows when that will be.
