I am running linux debian (lenny) and i installed better graphical driver (fglrx), because the older one (ati) was too slow....i had 1700FPS with the older and now i have 3000FPS, so i ma happy. But when i tried to run CS 1.6 on wine (it is said to run perfectly on Debian Lenny), i got pixels on my screen scattered and I could not read anything (or even see anything clearly).
