I'm reripping all my CDs to FLAC. I wrote a blog post fervently recommending Exact Audio Copy as the Chuck Norris of CD ripping software: http://rocknerd.co.uk/2008/08/12/yak-shaving-day/ I know it performs the same miracles on Linux as it does on Windows. The question is: does it actually perform just as well on other supported platforms? Mac OS X, FreeBSD, Solaris? Can it get the fine control of the CD drive it needs? Does anyone have experience in these? I don't want to have led people astray! - d.
