the next version of wine will run call of duty 4 without the need of any patch just "out of the box" (I tried it with the current developer version as found in the git repository). c&c3 requires you to use a special "mouse cursor patch", that enables you to use .ani-cursors, that wine doesn't support yet natively. the only choice you have (at least at the moment) is to d/l that and compile your own version of wine...
