Do the following as the user you will play the game in from the shell. Do not login as root or do a su or suid. winetricks vcrun2005sp1 If the game still does not work reinstall it inside wine using the original cd as the user that will play the game. Do not copy it from a running windows install or have your c: drive in wine mapped to some windows drive. John
