A sidenote: it's better to run the executable in the directory where it resides, so do cd ~/.wine/drive_c/Program Files/Accu-Chek Compass/Bin/ wine RDCompass.exe If that doesn't help, could you try if using native oleaut32 changes anything? i.e. wget http://kegel.com/wine/winetricks && sh winetricks vcrun6 Then run with WINEDLLOVERRIDES="oleaut32=n" wine RDCompass.exe
