It depends on your sound card.  If you're using some ancient POS or the
on-board AC97 sound, then yes, that's the "correct" behavior:  Your
sound card is only able to handle one sound stream at a time.

Spend the $5 to get yourself an old SoundBlaster Live PCI and get rid of
