For the gecko problem try the workaround suggested in: http://forum.winehq.org/viewtopic.php?t=1520 If the gnome problem is still there I'm afraid I can't help as I'm using KDE and the menu is fine. Note my installation is not a source install but an Ubuntu package upgrade from Wine 1.0 without uninstalling first.
