It pretty much exclusively uses OpenGL. I think the problem is your GPU. It seems Sketchup tries to use some OpenGL and it has problems with your card. Most likely drivers. Disable Cimpiz and just ignore random visual bugs. That's the best you can do without upgrading to nVidia. (ATI marginally better then Intel because of the driver problems as well).
