I'm sorry you hit such a rude answer. It is not typical of this list, although there are, as everywhere else, occasional people who cannot restrain their rudeness. Please come back, and ignore vitamin's attitude. The entire thread containing your post has become a thread discussing vitamin's attitude. The consensus seems to be that his technical information is good, but the means by which he expresses it is deplorable. I don't know the answer myself, but I can tell you what I do know, and surmise. I hope others will contribute further details. First of all, the Wine filesystem is embedded in the Linux file system, somewhere under ~/.wine . (space before the end-of-sentence period so you'll know it's not part of the filename) And somewhere I've heard of a method of embedding the Linux filesystem into Wine's. It seems to involve setting up a drive letter to refer to Linux's root directory. But I don't remember the details. What's more, from programmer's viewpoint, Wine is a library, not an emulator, so I'd *suspect* that to access the simulated Windows environment, a program would use functions in the Wine library, but to access the Linux environment, you'd use Linux libraries. What you have to do for functions that exist in both, I don't know. Please return. Not all of us are hostile to beginners. -- hendrik
