Yes, I have permission on the CDROM as I can play numerous other games, e.g. Comanche 4 & NASCAR Racing 2002, on WINE just fine. That is not what I asked. Having access to the mounted cdrom does not mean you have access to the device. Which device is your cdrom mounted to? (run 'mount' and find your cdrom) then find the cdrom device (/dev/?) And finally run 'ls -l /dev/?' replacing "?" with the device your cdrom is.
