Okay, will do. As for disabling compiz, I have tried dropping back to Metacity and I'm fairly sure it still did it. I'll run another few tests just to make sure. The only other potential problem is that because I'm using the newer FGLRX drivers then I'm also using AIGLX. I'm not sure if that'll have an effect or not.
