I have the latest xquartz (2.1.4) and it has a dead lock and doesn't
work with wine.

Thank you for pointing out this bug and the resulting conversation. It still appears that some work will be needed by a dedicated Mac developer to fix this and make OpenGL work in the Mac OS X environment. Remember that AJ does not like ObjC code and we should not need it to fix this.
