Problem can be:
OpenGL not installed ? -> get installed the official nvidia driver for linux :)
Beryl, Compiz -> i think they use opengl too so if it use it first
wine can't ? maybe i am wrong :) check xorg.conf for this opengl
configuration
DirectX runs fine but for me opengl  is faster
About those fixme's sometimes drives me too crazy...
